The film is based is set in Adventureland on Long Island in New York. It sucks that they didn't film there though. They did film part of Music and Lyrics there though. Greg Mottola actually worked at Adventureland for one summer in the 80s so that's where the idea comes from. I worked there last summer and it seems like a lot of people I worked with are excited to watch this Adventureland movie.
Kennywood park rocks. It's about time it was used as a movie filming location. It's a shame it's not a George Romero movie though. And hey, Super bad followup with super bored minimum wage recession youth in standard kid romance. But given dramatic intensity by method actress extraordinaire Kristen Stewart, as sullen side dish to flirty Ryan Reynolds' main squeeze spouse.
